Hilary Duff snagged the role of Ellie in the 1999 TV movie, The Soul Collector. Her performance won Hilary Duff an Artist Award for Best Supporting Actress and also helped Hilary Duff land more TV appearances, like a stint on the hospital drama, Chicago Hope.

Hilary Duff Lands Lizzie

Hilary Duff's breakthrough role was the part of Lizzie McGuire on the Disney Channel's hit show, Lizzie McGuire. Hilary Duff landed the role in 2001 and the show was so popular on both Nickelodeon and ABC that they made it into a feature film. Lizzie McGuire, the movie, hit theaters May 2, 2003 and was an instant success. Unfortunately, Hilary Duff and Disney couldn't agree on her salary and other Lizzie McGuire issues, so Hilary Duff left Disney to do other things. The Lizzie McGuire Show will continue in reruns only.

Hilary Duff's Cinderella Story

Since landing the role of Lizzie on the Lizzie McGuire show, Hilary Duff has become unstoppable. She's launched her own clothing line (Stuff by Duff), landed several movie roles, including Frankie Muniz's love interest in Agent Cody Banks, and top the charts with her catchy tunes. In July 2004, Hilary hits the big screen again, playing a modern day Cinderella in the flick A Cinderella Story. As if that's not enough, Hilary will head out on tour with big sis, Haylie during 2004 and she a few more movies in the works!
